My name is Indigo Montoya. Prepare to die.
So. I am mad. One should not blog when one is mad. Nonetheless.
The only school my brother applied to rejected him. Straight As. Robotics club. Language all four years. Sports for two. AP classes and honors in any place possible. 31 on the ACT. Why did he get rejected you ask? Well I have come to the conclusion that BYU no longer values academics. Rather they value sports over everything. Every single person he went through school with that was academically minded was rejected. Those who focused more on extra things and not on school were accepted. Which happened my year as well. Its whatever that they rejected me. That's ancient history. I'm not that smart anyway. But my brother is so smart. He might even rival my mom for intelligence. (Those of you who know my mom know how big that is.)
I'm mad for him. There is no formula to get into that school. Except to care more about your sport than your classes. Every other school has a formula that will get you in. This school seems to be more chance than anything.
I'm a little but furious on his behalf. I know he'll end up going somewhere way better after his mission. Provided he doesn't go into the military... But still. I just wish this time they had accepted him because he deserves it.

Thankful
Lately I've had a lot of opportunity to realize how lucky I am. Its not that I can't see all the wonderful things in my life, it is more that I have especially noticed them lately.
Things I am thankful for:
*My husband Dennis. I am so lucky. He is the perfect gentleman in every circumstance and I wouldn't trade anything in the world for him. He is truly the most amazing thing or person in my life. I always tell him he is my favorite. I can't even describe this bit of gratitude.
*My job.
*Our (big) apartment with all of the furnishings we were so lucky to get.
*Our Disney passes
*Books
*Temples! (I count how many there are whenever we drive. I have a goal to visit all of them in the area.)
*My family and Dennis's family
*God. I would not be where I am today with His help and His love. You have no idea.
*The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
*Squeaky cheese
*Candles
*Washing machine
*Babies.
*The kids I work with
*Medicine
*The scriptures
*That Dennis served a mission and is temple worthy
*Soft sweaters
*Yoga pants
*Leather boots
*Socks
*Being able to buy our own food without worry
*Clean water
*Camping
Honestly I could on for quite a while longer. The point is, I am so grateful for everything in my life right now. It makes me happy.

Sunshine
So pathetic or not this is my second blog post in the same hour... I'm waiting for Dennis to wake up so I may be a little bit lonely...
So. I saw one of my friends do a 5 things about me post. And I'm totally a follower or maybe I just like her a lot and miss her... Anyway I'm going to copy her a little.
*I cannot sleep if there is light. So I have been up since the sun hit our window.
*I'm really into photos and making digital scrap books. (Real ones too but they're expensive.)
* I'm really into experiences. I've discovered lately that I have really become one of those people that values doing things over owning things. I don't mind in the least.
*I'm awful at sitting still. Ask my husband. He has to sit through movies and church with me.
*I love the library. One of the first things I did after we got an apartment was get a library card.

The First Day Ever
So the phrase "live today like it's your last" has always really bothered me. Not just because it's inspired the dumbest acronym in the English language (see: yolo) or because it's basically sacrilegious (see: The Bible). No, it is because to me that sounds so incredibly sad. Can you seriously consider for a moment what you would do if you knew it was your last day? I feel like that is so sad. You'd be filled with so much regret and panic and wastfulness. Anything you'd do would just seem.. dismal. The other day I came across a quote that said to live today like it's your first. Now that is much more to my liking. Imagine you are just plopped on this earth for the first time ever. You'd be so excited and filled with so much wonder at even the smallest things! You'd want to try that ice cream shop on the corner. You'd be excited to see all the silly National Monuments or those places they adverstize on the freeway in remote places (such as the Museum of Butter). You'd want to try bee farming!
Ok so maybe this is just becoming a list of things I want to do. The point is, the first day would be the most exciting, hopeful day. So why not live every day like its your first? Even if you live in the same place you've lived for years, there is always something to feel amazement or curiosity over. Like bee farming.
So now that I'm thinking about this, I'm going to digress. I really, really want to work on a bee farm. That is what I am asking for for my birthday. I'm border line obsessed with the idea of bees. It all began last summer when I told my then-fiancee that I was going to be a bee keeper and we were going to buy a hive when we had the money. Then I met a nice bee keeper at a farmers' market in Virginia who told us to come and work on his bee farm in the spring. However, we no longer live there. So. Now I need to find a new bee farm.

Brag Post
So my husband Dennis is artistic. Just for kicks and giggles. It's pretty sweet. I took an art class last semester and received a sweet set of water colors and brushes which he has taken to. His classes haven't started yet so he's been creating things lately.
Observe:
He has also created an Iron Man painting as well but I can't find the picture... His next project will be Captain America if I remember correctly. He's just amazingly talented. I have a Snow White drawing he gave me and I like to look through his sketch book. Sometimes I am a bit envious of his natural talent. He's so lucky.
I'm so lucky. He picked me. Woot.
So braggedy brag. He also ordered Frozen for me. To demonstrate how big of a deal this is we listen to the songs almost daily and when I go over to one of my kid's houses Frozen is on every day. And! I still love it. We also went to the Ice Castle.
It was so cool. Literally (ha I'm puny) and I had some middle age ladies bully me into crawling through a child sized tunnel. Not that I needed much bullying. I fit somehow.
